Two mature white-tailed deer compete in the annual ritual to breed. Only the strongest and healthiest of deer pass their DNA to the next generation. Jousting matches during the annual deer rut determine which bucks stand supreme. Taken in one of the many fields of Cades Cove, Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
