Description
As a tropical depression brought heavy rains to the mountains of North Carolina, I opted to leave my dry house and venture out to visit a few area waterfalls. This is Glen Falls near the small mountain town of Highlands, North Carolina. Glen Falls has long been a favorite and has many moods through the seasons and on this visit the mood was simply magical. The wind, rain and spray made capturing this shot an adventure and that, to me is what makes photographing such beautiful places worth all the effort.

Thank You all for the comments. This was taken during heavy rains associated with a tropical depression - the drive and hike to this waterfall were quite interesting to say the least.

Thank You Shari. Glen Falls is one of my favorite waterfalls. This was taken during heavy rains associated with Tropical Depression Lee, in 2011. The water flow here is quite high.
