From My Eyes to Yours - I try to capture the beauty of nature as I see it. I am primarily a landscape and wildlife photographer specializing in the Southeastern United States. My home in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina makes Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway and hundreds of area waterfalls favorite subjects. Florida and the coast of the Carolinas and Georgia are areas I continue to enjoy exploring. Thank You all. This image is quite special to me. I often get goosebumps from looking at it. This is an area on Mount Katahdin, Maine that is just above the treeline. The conditions on this day were extreme! The wind gusts were very powerful and they brought ice to everything they contacted. My goosebumps where brought from more than the cold though! Roughly one and a half miles above this sign is the summit of Baxter Peak and the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail. I had set out six and a half months earlier from Springer Mountain, Georgia - 2,178.3 miles to the south and this was the final day of an incredible journey and adventure.
