At over 100 feet, Ramsey Cascades is the tallest waterfall in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. With nothing in the foreground to give scale to this spectacular waterfall it is difficult to gauge it's actual size. These cascades can only be reached by foot and require a strenuous 8 mile hike that are well worth the effort. The trail to Ramsey Cascades gains 2000 feet in elevation and passes through stands of old growth forest.
