The Davis Cabin at the Mountain Farm Museum in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Likely built entirely from one American Chestnut Tree! Built with hand tools and still standing today. Many of the buildings and exhibits at the Mountain Farm Museum were originally located at different areas of the park and relocated.
I have always loved old buildings like these. Imagine traveling into what was the then complete wilderness and carrying everything you owned with you. Creating an entire life using only hand tools. I always try to imagine what America looked like with virgin forests and massive chestnut trees, no roads, asphalt jungles, shopping malls or pollution.

From My Eyes to Yours - I try to capture the beauty of nature as I see it. I am primarily a landscape and wildlife photographer specializing in the Southeastern United States. My home in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina makes Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway and hundreds of area waterfalls favorite subjects. Florida and the coast of the Carolinas and Georgia are areas I continue to enjoy exploring.
